My creative journey
Ever since I was a little girl I have always been fascinated by pens and paper - I never went anywhere without them! Eventually, my need to constantly challenge myself creatively led me to a career in graphic design, one I've enjoyed for over 25 years now. Though I've spent my entire career designing corporate invitations, logos, marketing collateral and event branding, I found my true passion in the winter of 2002 as I designed my own wedding invitations. This project touched my soul so deeply, it led to a shift in my lifestyle as it awakened my entrepreneurial spirit. As you may already know, creativity doesn't stop when the clock hits 5pm at the end of the work day, which is why throughout my career as a Graphic Designer and now Creative Services Manager, I have explored many other art forms outside of my 9-5; I ran a custom wedding invitation studio for 5 years, then I shifted to selling my stationery designs online via Zazzle, while running an Etsy shop where you can find unique gifts that feature my hand-drawn artwork. There is so much to learn and explore when it comes to design, which is why I look forward to retirement and having more time to explore my creative interests while further developing my artistic abilities. Meet Paisley, my pet chihuahua
Before I created my Spanglish line (Que Party Tan Fancy™), I was selling my stationery designs through my Zazzle shop Paisley In Paris™, which I named after my pup. She's always been by my side as I worked on my designs, however, she has never been to Paris. if she had I'd be jealous! 😆 |
